Detailed Information About Tutoring

General Lesson Information

Before lessons begin, please let me know whether you prefer online or in-person sessions, as this affects the pricing. Online lessons are offered at a reduced rate. For online lessons, a laptop or desktop computer is required (mobile phones are not suitable).

The weekly schedule is fixed for each school semester — meaning your chosen day and time remain consistent throughout that period. You can also choose lesson packages with additional benefits from the e-shop.

Each tutoring session lasts 60 minutes of focused teaching.

In-Person Lesson Guidelines

  • Please arrive on time for scheduled lessons.

  • If the student arrives late, the lesson time is not extended.

  • If the student must leave early, the full lesson is still charged.

  • If I happen to be delayed, I will make up the missed time.

  • If I'm unable to teach due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, I will offer a replacement session.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

  • If you know in advance that the student cannot attend a lesson, please let me know as early as possible — at least 24 hours before the scheduled time. Otherwise, the lesson will be charged as if it took place.

  • Lessons cancelled less than 24 hours in advance are typically considered as held and charged.

  • Provided notice is given at least 24 hours ahead, the value of the lesson can be credited toward the following month's lessons or rescheduled within the same month.

  • Unexcused missed sessions are charged in full.

Communication During Lessons

During tutoring, I am not available on my phone; I will respond to messages as soon as possible outside lesson time.

Lesson Scheduling

Lessons are scheduled based on the order in which requests are received and my available time slots. I also teach weekends — specifically Sundays, which are online only. I do not travel to students' locations for in-person lessons.

If a lesson falls on a public holiday or school break, it normally does not take place. However, lessons can still be arranged on those days with a small additional fee if requested in advance.

Payment

Payment is made monthly in advance, covering the scheduled lessons for that month.
At the end of each month, I will send an email with the total number of lessons planned and the amount due. Online lessons are offered at a discounted rate. Payments must be received before the first lesson of the month.

What to Prepare for a Lesson

  • For in-person lessons: students should have a textbook, workbook, notebook, and writing tools ready.

  • For online lessons:

    • Please install Microsoft Teams on your computer before the first lesson.

    • Teaching on mobile phones is not suitable, as we work with shared files and materials.

How Online Lessons Work

All online lessons are conducted on Microsoft Teams. If I do not start the call at the scheduled time, the student can start it. If no one logs in to the lesson, it will be considered an unexcused absence and charged accordingly.

Homework & Practice

I typically do not assign homework, as students can practice using recommended exercise books — including those available at a discounted price on my website. If students encounter grammar topics they find difficult while studying at home, we review them in the next lesson.

Special Exam Preparation

Preparation for re-sits or autumn maturita exams takes place during summer break and is offered online only. You can purchase a summer exam prep package (including e-books) via the e-shop.
